Does God answer prayer?
|
Who’s your daddy? Knowledge of the Bible anchors the mind. Prayer anchors the heart. Actions anchor your faith. The more Bible knowledge you have the stronger your faith becomes. Guilt saps strengthened faith. Anxiousness and worry will rob you of your joy. Technology steals our freedom and makes us impatient. I believe that faith is what you think. Conviction is what you do. Laziness is the robber-baron of the soul. Negativity is the fog of the mind. We have become a culture of the Blog. Quick info, instant worldwide access to information, e-mail, etc., have replaced local community relationships and village building and child raising. Talking with people has replaced talking with God. We need to pray. Talking to God sustains the soul. Humans are created to feel believed in and loved. Struggles build perseverance. Perseverance builds character. Character builds faith. Pray, be personal. Only God delivers. Repent; and not with just worldly sorrow. Psalms 4:1 says: “a prayer to the God of my life.” Psalms 6:9 says: “the Lord accepts my prayer.” Philip Yancey, in his new book seeks to bring us to a closer awareness of just how important talking to God is. We may not understand all the time. As for me, even though I stand in the dark, not understanding what is happening to the world, I will obey. In the end, God will win…and I want to be on His side. |
