Enders Game - excellent soldier story of boy who becomes hero of earth by being the best at the simulated game machine against alien bugs
Footfall - Alien First Contact - they might look like elephants?
Half The Day Is Night - futuristic Blade Runner type with excellent story line, underwater subways, alternate energy sources and just plain fun - plus there is a mystery to be solved
The Long Tomorrow - only the Amish survive the disaster that overtakes the USA because of their simple down to earth life style - not very many mechanical devices
